Hot Dougs Chicago - Permanently Closed

Sometimes all you want in the summer is a hot dog. The other weekend I went with four of my best guy friends to Hot Dougs where we feasted on duck fat fries, several sausages, and one of the best  corn dogs I've ever had. After sending my boyfriend a picture of the spread, he asked me, "Did you really have cheese fries, a gourmet sausage, and a corn dog?" Unashamedly I answered, "Duh." I'm lucky enough to have friends who love to eat, and even better that I went with the guys because there was zero judgement. One of them even asked halfway through our meal if we just shouldn't hop on over to Kuma's after and knock out two Chicago fave's in one day. According to his rationalization, by the time we actually sat down and ate, it might be 5pm, thus dinnertime. This is why I love them. No shame.

Waiting in line at Hot Dougs is all part of the experience. It was fun to go with a group of friends, and these guys kept me entertained for the waiting period.

Along with our sausages, all five of us either got a corn dog or a Chicago dog. The corn dog batter was absolutely delectable, crunchy on the outside and a little bit soft on the inside.

This one was my choice of the day, the cheese came oozing (in a good way) out of the sausage as soon as you bit into it and was topped with more shredded cheese and a coca cola bbq sauce!

This has got to be one of my favorite sausages from Hot Dougs, I've had it once before and each time is as tasty as the last. The alligator sausage came topped with a shrimp remoulade and creamy goat cheese.

Three of the guys got the "game of the week" which was the elk sausage. One of the guys said it best, when you took a bite, it had that perfect sausage "snap" to it!
