5 Things You Shouldn’t Miss at JuiceRX

5 Things You Shouldn’t Miss at JuiceRX

There’s a new “juicery” in town and they have some of the most unique juices and healthy food items I’ve ever tasted! I’m pretty notorious for choosing meat and cheeses over fruits and veggies, but JuiceRX on Wells St in Old Town is working on changing my tune. Besides having fresh-pressed juices, elixir shots, and cleanses they also have the best damn kale chips I’ve ever tasted.

The cozy storefront is owned by Dean Kasal who began juicing after traditional treatment of his ulcerative colitis wasn’t fixing the problem. A year after beginning juicing he found himself healthy and well, rid of the pains from a disease that modern medicine calls incurable. Dean attributes his newfound health to a diet that largely consisted of organic, fresh-pressed, homemade juices. Now while I may not have the willpower to quit dairy or meat, or other foods that may not be the best for me but I find delicious; Dean’s story was inspiring and encouraged me to start looking for ways to incorporate healthier snacks and meals into my diet.

Here are five different items I tried at JuiceRX that you shouldn’t miss!

Liquid Mana Juice: Fresh-cracked Thai Young Coconut water paired with pineapple and lime with fresh Aloe Vera (sourced directly from the leaf). This potent combination soothes and heals the digestive system and is a great source of amino acids and fatty acids. In addition, JuiceRX adds blue-green algae (Aphanizomenon Flos-Aquae) wild harvested from the pristine waters of Lake Klamuth. The benefits of this ancient organism have recently been rediscovered with users reporting near magical benefits.

Jalapeno “Cheddar” Kale Chips: These babies aren’t baked or fried, they’re actually dehydrated into crispy little chips topped with jalapeno cashew “cheddar” that tastes even better than a sour cream and onion potato chip!

Strawberries ‘n Cream Cashew Milk: Reminiscent of melted strawberry ice cream, this luscious nut-milk will nourish your body and protect your heart! Strawberries protect blood vessels from oxidative and inflammatory damage, and provide a boost of antioxidants.  So feel free to indulge in one of the famous raw, vegan classics, minus all the guilt.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chia Cups: Chia seeds congeal to make a thick and tasty pudding mixed with peanut butter and chocolate for a decadent treat.

Pineapple-Jalapeno: Sweet and tropical with a perfect hint of spice; this is cleansing done right!  Pineapple contains the enzyme bromelain which aids digestion, and jalapeno contains the natural plant compound called capsaicin. This is what makes your eyes water and mouth burn, but it also speeds weight loss and reduces inflammation.
